Bivariate Data Associations- Open Middle Problem

The heights of a middle school basketball team are: 6’1″, 5’7″, 5’8″, 5’0″, 5’1″, 5″6″, 5’5″ and 5’9″.

  1. Create a list of shoe sizes that would show a positive association between height and shoe size.
  2. Create a list of shoe sizes that would show a negative association between height and shoe size.
  3. Create a list of shoe sizes that would show no association between height and shoe size.

Which list (or lists) do you believe make the most sense for this situation?  Why?
